It’s okay in writing too, and just as well – not great: great plotlines that don’t get developed, good plot twists that lead to disappointment, and no substance in otherwise very decent character bases, leaving them just solid enough, but not where you’d think of them outside of the book pages. My Opinion: Plot’s decent, but sadly not great: walk there, talk to that, threaten those, walk back, regroup, repeat, plots made, plots unveiled, secondary plots applies, all poorly. And that means Peter Pan needs to pay a visit to his old friend, Captain Hook. It seems like one of the shadows has escaped into the Pirate land. Then again, if they did, can Pan trust them to hand said shades over? But, no matter, first things first. But once the trapped shadows got released – none of the Never King’s weakened court members were strong enough to capture either one of those sly, fast, and even dangerous things. He did find them, with help of Winnie Darling, and uncovered an old plot against the Neverland’s King too. But at least it’s dark, and there’s some plot.Ībout the Book: Pan got his shadows back! Well… Sort of. Crowe, second book in Vicious Lost Boysseries. I wish I didn’t get three books in invested, but I guess it’s exactly why I’ll still give it a 3 out of 5. And that was pretty much the peak of the story. Anyway, with a lot of pacing that has seemingly stripped wax or lacquer off the floor boards under Captain Hook, a lot of scheming, plenty of plotting, and pondering, invasion was underwhelming at best. Villains are commonly written better than the heroes, but it’s extra funny here, as the Neverland fellas were supposed to be the bad guys. My Opinion: When the plot is sparse and weak, and the driving force of the story – romance or erotica is also mediocre, what remains? Characters, I guess.
And Peter Pan will need all the help he can get to protect both his kingdom, and his people.
Unlikely alliances are being forged against the Never King by those struggling to remain in power, alongside the ones bent on vengeance. And while that is a dreadful, vicious predicament, it migt just be perfectly timed.
